FAQ

What is a DXF file?

DXF garment patterns are a universal format for digital sewing patterns, used in leading CAD/CAM systems such as Gerber, Lectra, Optitex, Assyst, Investronica, CLO3D and others.

The DXF format ensures maximum drawing accuracy and seamless integration with any process — from design to industrial production.

We use the industry-standard AAMA DXF (a CAD/CAM format), which guarantees reliable opening and stable work in all kinds of modern software.

On the production floor, speed and precision matter most. The AAMA-compliant DXF format with seam allowances integrates smoothly with CAD/CAM systems and plotters, so production can start immediately, without extra rework.

3D simulation

DXF files work not only with CLO3D, but also with Browzwear VStitcher, Marvelous Designer, Optitex 3D and Gerber AccuMark 3D. Check the fit, materials and colours in a realistic preview before cutting, and then move confidently into production.

Technical details

Our DXF patterns are prepared with ease of use in mind:

  • Production: with seam allowances,
  • 3D: clean pieces (without seam allowances) for CLO3D and Browzwear,
  • Print and review: PLT files — for printing on a plotter.

Download and start working right away — fast, accurate, professional.

Which software can open DXF patterns?

DXF files are intended for professional pattern-making CAD software. Before buying, check that your software supports importing DXF files. After opening a file, we recommend checking the units and scale. To help you check, we have prepared a free test file to download in the free patterns section.

What versions are included in the DXF package?

The DXF package contains a file in the full size range described for the style, according to the size chart given with it. The style includes seam allowances. The seam allowance values are stated in the description and optimised for the type of fabric/knit and sewing method given there.

After checking the measurements and pattern pieces, the patterns can be used to prepare garments for cutting and production.

What is a PLT file?

A PLT file is a file ready to print on a plotter. Our PLT files have been prepared with professional automatic marker-making software, so that fabric consumption is optimised as far as possible. The files are prepared in the three most popular widths (of both fabrics and plotters): 90 / 150 / 180 cm. On the printout you get all the sizes of the style combined in one optimal marker.
